Business Continuity & Security

When systems go down, services stop. When data is breached, trust is lost — and in many cases, so is compliance. ZongeTech helps organisations prepare for the unexpected by building robust Business Continuity Plans and ICT security frameworks that keep operations running and sensitive information protected. We work across government, financial services, and enterprise environments where the cost of failure is simply too high to ignore.

What services we provide

Business continuity and security are not once-off projects — they are ongoing disciplines. An outdated Business Continuity Plan sitting in a drawer offers no real protection. Neither does a security policy that has not been tested or updated since it was written. We help you build plans and frameworks that are live, tested, and maintained — so they actually work when you need them.

Business Continuity Planning (BCP)
We develop Business Continuity Plans that cover the full range of disruption scenarios — from system outages and cyberattacks to power failures and natural disasters. Our BCPs define clear roles and responsibilities, recovery time objectives, escalation procedures, and communication protocols. We write them in plain language so that the people who need to act in a crisis can do so without confusion. Every BCP we produce is tested before we hand it over.
ICT Risk Management
Technology risk does not disappear on its own — it grows when it is ignored. We conduct structured ICT risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities in your systems, processes, and third-party dependencies. We then work with your team to develop and implement a Risk Management Plan that prioritises threats by likelihood and impact, assigns ownership, and tracks mitigation actions to completion. Our approach aligns with COBIT, ISO 31000, and the requirements of the PFMA for public sector clients.
ICT Security Governance & Policy
A security incident in a government department or financial institution can have consequences that go far beyond the technical. We help organisations build ICT security governance frameworks that cover data protection, access control, incident response, and audit readiness. This includes drafting and reviewing acceptable use policies, data classification frameworks, and security standards aligned to the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and applicable national guidelines. We also conduct security audits to assess whether your current controls are actually doing what they are supposed to do.
Disaster Recovery Planning
Business continuity and disaster recovery are related but distinct. Where a BCP covers how your organisation keeps functioning during a disruption, a Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP) focuses specifically on how your ICT systems and data are restored after a major incident. We develop DRPs that define recovery priorities, data backup strategies, system restoration sequences, and test schedules. We pay particular attention to mission-critical systems — the ones your organisation simply cannot operate without.
BCP Testing & Simulation Exercises
A plan that has never been tested is a plan that may not work. We design and facilitate BCP and DRP testing exercises — from desktop walkthroughs with management teams to full simulation drills that test your actual recovery capability. After each exercise, we produce a findings report with clear recommendations to close the gaps identified. Regular testing is also a compliance requirement for many organisations operating under the PFMA and sector-specific regulations.

How we work

Discussion
We begin with a structured risk and continuity conversation. We meet with your IT team, your operations managers, and your executive sponsor to understand your critical systems, your current plans, and your biggest vulnerabilities. We ask what would happen if your most important system went offline for 24 hours — or 72 hours. The answers to that question shape everything that follows.
Strategy
We analyse your environment and produce a gap assessment — a plain-language document that shows where your current BCP and security posture fall short and what needs to be done to close those gaps. From there, we develop a prioritised action plan. We do not try to fix everything at once. We focus on the highest-risk areas first, so you get the most protection in the shortest time.
Implementation
We write or rewrite your BCP, DRP, and security policies. We work closely with your ICT and operations teams throughout, so the finished documents reflect how your organisation actually works — not a generic template. We also help you put the supporting structures in place: backup and recovery systems, access control reviews, incident response teams, and communication trees. When we are done, your organisation is genuinely better prepared.
Results
Once plans and frameworks are in place, we test them. We run tabletop exercises and simulation scenarios to verify that your teams know what to do and that your recovery procedures work as intended. Every test produces a written findings report. Where gaps are found, we close them before we consider the engagement complete.
Support
Business continuity and security are not set-and-forget. Threats change, systems change, and staff turn over. We offer annual BCP review and update services, ongoing security advisory support, and scheduled testing programmes to keep your plans current and your teams ready. Think of it as a maintenance contract for your organisation's resilience.

PRICING

How We Charge

ZongeTech does not use fixed price lists. Digital transformation engagements vary widely in scope, complexity, and duration — a one-size price list would not serve you well or reflect the actual work involved.

Instead, we offer a free initial consultation to understand your needs. From there, we provide a clear, written proposal with a full breakdown of costs before any work begins. There are no hidden fees and no surprises.

We work with clients on project-based fees, milestone-based billing, and monthly advisory retainers — whichever model suits your organisation best.
